From posts, it looks like some people on here like Enfields.  This is a Cavalry Carbine I picked up a few years ago from Reata Pass Auctions.  They had a TON of Enfields at that auction, and I think the enormous selection allowed for a few rifles to be sold for a little less than they normally would have.  This one is Canadian marked.  Still has the leather rear sight protector.  The cleaning rod is a reproduction.

Very nice. Have seen a lot of Lee-Enfields but have not seen that one.

Wanna sell it?

Just bought a Spanish 1895 Cavalry Carbine in 7mm Mauser.
Next is a Snider .577 Cavalry Carbine.

I am feeling the need for a Cavalry Carbine collection.

Wow!  Beautiful!

Forgotten Weapons recently featured a trials rifle that evolved into this one.

Here's a few other things I have (or had).  Not really related to the carbine, but to British field gear.  One is a Pattern 1903 bandolier. I got it at a gun show this year.  I had seen it, and passed it up.  When I was leaving, I took another look, and the guy offered it to me for $75. It looked rough when I bought, but it cleaned up nicely.  Difficult to see, but the marking on the leather says "Cole Bros.  1916". Another piece is a ID tag I got when I purchased an auction lot of field gear.  It's WW1 era. I believe it was probably wrapped around the soldier's carry gear (or whatever you call it...sleeping mat, supply pack, etc).  The third item is rare. I sold it last year. It's a spine cover.  Used in the mid/late 1800s through WW1.  At the time, it was thought the sun's heat caused heat stroke and other ailments when the spine was heated.  These were used in hot weather areas.

I have a thing for legal antiques that shoot readily available smokeless rounds.  Very nice, OP.  Thanks for posting the pics.
