Anyone who has a suppressor for a 308 ever shoot it on a 22LR? Would it be effective on a 22LR? Am waiting on my can for my 308 and want to share it with the other calibers I have. If you know of a you tube video showing this, would appreciate the link

It's effective but not as one made for that caliber.

Unless it's user serviceable don't shoot 22.

My 7.62 can quiet 5.56 a dramatic amount

See the description.

Sure. The Optimus is .357 and suppresses 22lr. Not as good as a dedicated RF can but better than a bare muzzle.

I would advise against using centrefire suppressors on .22 LR.

Increased fouling occurs and that varies according to what type of ammunition is used also, but there can be quite a lot of fouling gathering inside.

So suppressors for 22 are made different? I know 22 are dirty compared to 308 or similar. Have a sandman S on order.

You can take 22lr suppressors apart for cleaning. Most rifle cans are sealed.

Big can works fine on a little gun.

I shoot .17 hmr all day long out of my .30 cal recce7 and it works great! As far as getting dirty, yes it does, but shooting some .556 right after burns/blows all the crud out and it looks like new again.

I use either of my TBAC Ultra 30's on my Encore with a 5.7x28 barrel, works fantastic...totally hearing safe when I'm out prairie dogging.

They are equally impressive with the smaller calibers, aren't they?
17HMR and 5.7 are all jacketed bullets, so everything stays much cleaner than the slower, dirty, filthy, awful .22LR. (Which I shoot the most ).

You definitely want your can user serviceable for 22lr. My rimfire can gets lead buildup on the baffles fairly quick.

If you already ordered a sealed centerfire can, get a dedicated rimfire can or at least a user serviceable pistol can.  If you want to only have one can, look at an optimus.  I got started with a rimfire can and a hybrid. 2 cans covering everything I own or plan to own. I will get more cans eventually, but for now I can focus on host guns.
