I found this in Pawn Shop today. It’s a Winchester Model 12 1948 vintage. The KSP started in 1948 so it should be one of the first guns.  I know the wood has probably been replaced. The barrel is spotless and the rest is really good shape almost too good. I got a decent deal on it think.  Paid $950

Whatever you do, don't tell us how much you paid for it.

Seriously, I would have been all over that. Nice work.

$950,  I think it’s reasonable. It’s not going anywhere so resale is not an issue.

Likely the wood is original, a police armory usually has some guns that never see any use.

Not bad. I wouldn't mind having one.

I'd say wood is original - I have a 1942 Model 12 and its hue /color is about the same as that wood.

Some police guns sit in a rack or in storage others are beat in squad cars handled and dropped with dings all over - you never know with a department gun but I've seen a few examples where they didn't get used much.  That blue looks sweet

As someone who got in on the ONG buy, that price is hard to swallow for a pump.  But the ONG guns quickly went for more than you paid so good find.  It's a good looking gun. How smooth is it?

I’ve got the the ONG 870 Folder, so that takes some of the sting out of the price. The gun is as smooth as the ONG 870. The barrel is spotless on other inside.

There are a couple of listing for these guns and the are considerably more money and not in the shape this one is in.
One sold in Lexington for $1400 that had been parkerized over the blue.

I have a blued Remington 870 police magnum in my gun safe at home that belongs to the local police department.  I will eventually own it.
