Brownell's now has the KCI M1 Carbine 15 round magazines in stock.

These are my favorite, most reliable magazines. The description on their site says they're of the BHO variety, which I dislike, but all of the other KCI's I've bought didn't have the BHO "feature".

All the KCI's I've bought the past couple years have had the bolt hold open mag follower

Looks like Apex raised the price on theirs

I'm blaming you for ordering a 1/2 dozen more of these

Besides, I added another Carbine to the stash last week and want 1/2 more "just in case"

Ain't it purty

I already sent it to Fulton Armory for a tech check, just to play it safe

The KCIs from Brownells have been flawless with Korean surplus.  Why the dislike for the BHO feature?

I ordered four “GI surplus” and four kci from apex last week.
One GI is stamped “Japan” and has a bent up universal Florida address stamped fooorplate, one has a “nub” broken off the side that engages the release and one has a feed lip bent enough that it doesn’t insert into the magwell.
I’ll be able to make 2 maybe three functional mags out of them.

The kci are perfect and have the bolt hold feature

I'm a brand new M1 Carb owner and bought 2 NIW GI magss aand 3 KCI mags. All 15 rounders.

The GI mags worked 100% while the KCI caused problems. The KCI look great and appear quality but the follower/spring movement is very rough with sticking and binding. One KCI mag refuses to chamber rounds with more than 13 rounds loaded and another caused 1 FTF on the last round.

No more KCI for me. Ya'll have at 'em.

Something else has to be wrong. They're ALL I use and I use them a lot. I'd estimate I've fired 60 rounds through them here at the house in the last 2 days. There's not a week goes by that I don't shoot one of my carbines and it always with KCI's. A few months ago I did have one with a rough spot that caused the follower to drag, but it worked itself out.
Keep trying would be my suggestion.

OK. Once I'm done testing the NIW WWII GI mags and put them away, I will use the KCI exclusively for range and practice. Maybe they will break in but that follower is rough.
