It is a k98 mauser russian capture action and barrel do not match in fact no parts match. Had been refinished metal and stock looks sanded and varnished.

Anyways can move the action back and forth. Thinking of bedding the action.

You can also use some metal shims where the stock recoil crossbolt/lug is. I've tightened up a few actions that way.

Also, another problem on these Mausers are people will use repro capture screws. Since the original matching and timed action screws are long gone they will back them out a bit to use a repro capture screw but now your action screws are loose.

Strange you would say that. Just put repro capture screws on. Will remove them and see what happens.
