Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - Is re-coring an OLD AWC Thundertrap an option?

OK, so I have an circa 1999 piece-of-crap can that is essentially an AWC Thundertrap.  It is actually a copy of the Thundertrap, made by a former manager of AWC.  I've compared it to a legit Thundertap made in the same time frame, head-to-head, and it's noticeably louder.

It's unbelievably heavy, and horribly loud with supersonic ammo.  I believe it is fully welded with poorly-designed K baffles.

Is getting it re-cored an option?
