What you want is the standard velocity 150gn. Cor-lokt.  Quite accurate and safe to shoot in Garands.

I was told twice by Remington not to do it.

I'll trust the ammo manufacturer(keep in mind, they make more money when I buy their ammo) over a couple internet articles.

That’s what the Schuster Mfg adjustable plug is for. It allows you to ‘tune’ your M1’s gas system to the energy level of the ammo you want to shoot.

Regular 125gr Corelokts (3100fps)are safe...the managed ones are even more safe..they just won't reliably cycle the action

Except in this case it doesn't help since the ammo doesn't have enough gas to begin with.

Long story short commercial ammo and milsurp ammo have similar port pressures and its safe to use in an unmodified garand.
