I have a trigger pack in my parts box that formerly belonged to a local Arfcommer which was destroyed by Bill Springfield. It has a nice, light, smooth trigger break on ‘F’, a heavier trigger break on ‘S’, and for the former owner, a glitchy trigger break if he wiggled the lower housing a certain way. I could not replicate the third failure in my old Portuguese G3S, but it turned both of our rifles into jam-a-matics.
I brought the trigger pack to my gunsmith & he was aghast at how much material was missing from the trigger, sear, and hammer. The trigger return spring was wadded-up & twisted around in order to push the trigger forward, which didn’t work well.
Bill’s solution to my buddy?
“Send in the rest of the trigger housing & parts, I’ll make it work...”
Uhh... Fuck that.
