So, how did you mount that factory front sight??  Did you have to machine the barrel down by 10thousands or did you ream the front sight ?

The RR200 tech sight works better, but the original rear sight's lines are classic.

Turned the barrel outside diameter. Can't remember for sure but .010 sounds close.

I came really close to buying a Mini-14 (older gun, $500 OTD), but after looking at mag prices I passed and bought an M1 carbine instead (AO for $500 OTD).

Unfortunately I haven't picked up much in the way of Carbine ammo and still find myself lusting after a mini 14.

CDNN has or had straight body mini 14 mags cheap. They work well and look awesome.

I used to own one of those old shotguns too. I do miss it’s ability to....miss.

The gunbroker ad will not show.. Just curious what the ad stated about what was the problem that made it a parts gun and what you paid..apparently you had confidence in yourself that you could repair whatever it was..
Good article , good end results and good looking rifle

Can't remember for sure but think I paid $420 with shipping, sales tax, and transfer. Didn't need anything. Checked headspace and it was over 223 no but good for 556 field.

Thanks
