Lusted after the International rifles since the late 90s, just never bought one.  Of course now they don't make them any longer.  Prefered caliber of 308 or 7x75.  Anyone have any stories of accurate Ruger Internationals to put me over the Gunbroker edge?

When my grandmother died I was given some cash. I really wanted a .308 bolt gun. This was the mid 90’s and all the tacticool stuff was not out yet. I was a poor graduate student who had to be budget conscious.

I went to my favorite fun store and looked around. One of the items I saw was a Ruger 77 Stainless with target barrel and laminated stock. I held it, felt it and it spoke to me. Got the rifle, Simmons scope, Harris bipod and a sling.

When I was able to get it to a buddies shooting spot we marked off 100 yards. I walked the scope into alignment and then started to shoot groups. First three shot group fell within the size of a nickel.

I ended up with a huge smile on my face.

Ruger on top.

Great rifles.
i have two.
Both in 7x57
One is a bolt action, the other a No. 1
Both are 1.25" rifles with hand loads.

Here is a pic from a few years ago with my son's hartebeest and the SS/walnut bolt action.

Just won a 308 off Gunbroker tonight.  $850 and comes with a Leupold M8 4x scope.  Would have liked to pay less, but that's on the low end of what I've seen similar condition Internationals sell for on GB.

I'll post up some pictures when it comes in.  I'll prob try to do some coyote hunting with it this winter.

I’m pleased.  Not perfect condition, so I won’t feel guilty hunting with it, but in really nice shape.

Well, how does it shoot?  I love the little RSI guns.  There was a lonely stainless 10/22 in a walnut mannlicher stock at my local store.  I fondled it everytime I went in there for over a year.  I finally came to realize that I couldn't stand the thought of someone else buying it.  It wears a nice little 2-7x35 Burris.  It isn't as accurate as my CZ 452 trainer, but I get a kick out of it every time I shoot it.  I really had my eye on a stainless hawkeye mannlicher in 260 to match, but that was a little more money.

Thanks for sharing the pic.  That is the way to enjoy a 7x57 mannlicher stocked rifle!

Nice, and a good price with the scope on it already.

Always liked the International look; bought a 10/22 Mannlicher because of it.

Always had a thing for Mannlicher stocks but i satisfied the itch with two CZs.  A 22 and. 223.  I’ll have a 6.5 Swede someday. But the Ruger International is a cool rig.  Kind of hard to find.

Beautiful!

One of those stainless internationals in 7x57 is one of those bucket list guns for me.

I have one of those in 30.06 hanging in the back of the gun safe somewhere, bought in sometime in the late 80's, loved the full length stock.

Mine's an older tang safety RSI in .30-06, and sports a Leupold Vari-X II 1-4x.  It's a handy little carbine.

That is pure sex. I had a regular stock tang safety 77R in 30-06 as my first deer rifle and still regret selling it some 25 years later. The older ones were awesome.

So, how does it shoot?

Unscientific testing (and only one range trip).  I loaded up some 150g Nosler Ballistic Tip (hunting) and 150g Sierra Gameking BTs.  Using Ramshot TAC, the charge is written down but I don't remember, the Noslers shot about 2.5".  The Gamekings shot about 1.5"

More testing needed.  I'm happy enough with the Gamekings for my intended use.  With the fixed 4x Leupold, I'm only comfortable out to about 200 yards on deer anyway.
