A historical thread on chronology of the scar platform as we know it. Its inception, prototypes, acceptance, revisions, etc. If you have dates pics that pertain to this, post them up and ill update the op.

I have nothing of value to contribute, but am very interested in seeing this thread develop.

There seems to be a lot of misinformation about the SCAR program (or so I'm lead to believe by TOS).  It would be nice to have a concise chronological / historical and documented list.

There is a good thread on another forum from a guy involved wit the SCAR testing. Back in 2012 he said the SCAR H/17 was on at least gen 7. So who knows exactly what gen it is on currently. Maybe there is someone here that knows or maybe the FN Forum has this information?

There aren't distinct "gens", at least that's not how you'll hear them referred to at FN. There have been a series of rolling, iterative improvements over the developmental and production history of the project, mostly tweaks to things like materials, sometimes the way sub-assemblies are designed, and with some more significant design changes, but most of those were early on in the developmental portion of the program. Configuration changes have occurred and it is likely you will see them in the future as requirements change.
