I just got this handguard from Numrich. It's in excellent shape but has some dusty oxidation and dust on it. How can I safely remove it?

Thanks. I usede some turpentine and it worked well.

Good deal, any mild solvent usually does.

I just didn't want to start rubbing and then the paint started wiping off!
I haven't installed either of the handguards yet. I want to shoot the rifle in stock config first. The slotted guard looks really cool but heard about the heat mirage issues so I bought the fiberglass solid also.
