In the market myself (well at least I was until this COVID thing hit), but I would think an all original, non sanded stock example, with a good to excellent bore would bring in the 5 to 6k region... deduct 1k for sanded stock, 500 for bad barrel, deduct 2k if everything is fine but had been sporterized in the 50s/60s.... Need pics to be accurate on pricing... If you could post pics that would be great!

I’ve got three of them. Paid between $2500 to $4000 for them. One is particularly interesting because it has one of the early two groove barrels on it. On Gunbroker they seem to ask anywhere from $3500 to $7000 for one. Good luck with your sale.

What would  7 mm Mauser be worth??
Just curious...
Edited to clarify: I mean an original Johnson in 7 mm.I believe there were 400 or so made for Argentina ( I think)

Never seen or priced a 7mm. Sounds neat.

A 2 groove barrel would mean it's been made from a surplus A3 barrel

Yes, I believe you are correct. The first ones were made that way.

no...they all had 4 groove barrels...the first ones were made from M1903 barrels..

If its a 2 groove it's a post WW2 barrel someone likely made to get one shooting again.  Not an "original" Johnson barrel...

Thanks. I thought the 1903's used, had two groove barrels.

It has been quite busy at work.

I got to shoot one once.  It was very different feeling from an M1.  I love the experience of shooting old, uncommon guns!
