Im sure this has been posted a million times...

Just got an XP50 and looking at QD mounts.
I think I'm going with the ZroDelta.

Playing with the stock mount right now.

How far to the rear are you guys mountng the Trails?

Most of my standard optics, the eye piece lens is about in line with the rear of the charging handle.

That seems a bit too far forward with the Trail.

I've seen pics with it mounted on an AR and the rubber "boot" removed

Looking for tips

Thanks

I put my Trail XQ38 with the Pulsar QD Mount on the last one. Works the best for me.

I stuck with the standard mount on mine.  The end of the mount is flush with the charging handle and most of the eyepiece sticks out past that.  The rubber boot just seemed to get in the way so I took it off and added a vortex flip cap.

I just got in a xp50. I'm using the ZroDelta mount .

I'm putting it as far to the rear as possible. Seems I can see the display best.

That's the one I'm looking at.
Are you using the three most forward mounting screws?  To get the unit further to the rear?

I'm not sure you can mount it that way. As the mount holes are spaced to hit both end mount holes and skips one of the two middle holes depending if the QD knob faces left or right.

Ah, thanks.
I don't have the mount in hand yet.

I’m running the Bobro Pulsar mount and am using the mounting holes furthest to the rear of the unit.

Which Vortex cap for the eyepiece?

ouch, that mount aint cheap relative speaking, but I know this is the NV forum so we're used to expensive stuff.

does the pulsar come with its own mount and if it does is it not up to par?

It comes with a "bolt gun" mount.
I think it's meant for a weaver mount.
It works ok on the picatinny rail profile.
I was playing with it and it seemed to work OK.
It's really long though.
It's not QD either.

I have at least three rifles I want to use this optic on.

Got the ZRODelta mount yesterday.
It's spendy, but nice.

I like the Bobro levers, but I think it's too long.

The Pulsar mount only has a single clamp point.

So I chose the expensive ZRODelta...

I don't remember off the top of my head.  I measured the od of the eyepiece and got the defender cover for that size.   It won't shake off,  but sometimes will come off when flipping the cap up.

Here's the torque specs from pulsar.   Lower than I expected.

For the screws that go through the mount into the scope you want no more than 18-20 inch pounds, for the mount to the rail 20-25 inch pounds

FWIW.. I know you are mounting yours on an AR, my Trail with ZRO delta works fine on the AR.. but I had to mount the scope to the mount so the bolt on the mount was on the right side (ejection port side) for when I use the scope on my Rem 700 bolt guns (with 1 piece picatiny rails).  Mounting the base "backwards" like that let the scope be mounted a little further back.  You can only use 3 of the screw holes, but it's held fine for over a year.
