How common is it to see 12.7 x 108 caliber ammo or any firearms in the U.S. ? I understand that the ammo would be hard to find for a Dshk or something like the Zestava M93 Black Arrow? I remember seeing a full auto Dshk for sale at a gun show but dont know if it was in its orginal caliber or rebarreled to .50 bmg. I understand that the ammo would be harder to reload due to steel case, berdan primers and possible finding the correct projectiles.

What has anyone seen or heard about this caliber?

thanks in advance for the help.

Supposedly had some Afghan fucks make hits on some of our MRAPS with one after it got stuck and our guys got into an 18hr fire fight/recovery mission. Was punching half way or more through the armor over 1km. Bitch packs a hell of a punch.  I'll see if I can locate the pictures on my laptop when I get home and post them. ETA: Nope, can't locate them.

Curious as to how common that caliber is too now though.

I have about the 100 rounds of it that I got from bowman a year or two ago. Was supposed to be ball but turned out to be APIT. Was a mixture of czech, russian and Chinese ammo. Was going to feed a semi auto dshk but alas I got ride of that project.

Someone in the states has a considerable amount.  When I was at Barrett, a guy called and wanted an M82A1 scaled up enough to fire the 12.7 ammo. He  said he had a 20' shipping container of it.

Ronnie thought about it, but decided it wasn't worth the time and R&D to do it.

A 50rd and 100rd Beta style mag for the A1 was considered also around that time frame, but was also nixed.

We also made an underwing A1 that was mounted parallel to the wing, slung underneath a Cessna high wing aircraft. It was solenoid fired and fired tracer rounds. The rifle was mounted upside down. It was for drug lab hunting. An aircraft would circle a suspected drug lab and fire a tracer round into the area of a suspected drug lab to be used as a spotter for people on the ground to use to get them close.
We built a couple of them for the DEA to use in S. America.

ATFMachinegun.com had one listed for sale about 1 month ago. Asking price was $75K I think. But it was converted to 50BMG. Not sure how hard it would be to convert back.

Found it. Was wrong on the asking price.

I wouldn't mind buying a few rounds of the 12.7x108.  I saw some at Knob Creek a year or two ago,
but they were only selling them by the case I don't need that
much as I have nothing to shoot it through. I'm set on 12.7x99 unless I can find some mk211 for a good price

I believe that the Mk 211 is 12.7 x 99 ( .50 BMG ). I wouldn’t be surprised if there was a 12.7 x 108 version of it in Russia or China tho.
