I have a few Hogue knives; yes, made in America.
I have two of the larger X5 folders, a discontinued larger auto, the Microswtich auto and the X1 Micro flip. I also have Hogue's make of the Ritter RSK. First, all are very well made, great tolerances and solid QA/QC. Where I work now, I'm restricted to much smaller folders so the flipper and auto micros get carried more often. Hogue's plunge lock isn't new, but it's very well done. Hogue does make the HK line (no longer Benchmade), Sig Knives, and collaborations for knives like the Ritter RSK.
The flippers work great on the larger X5 models, but the smaller X1 Micro is a little hard just considering the size. I love the wharncliffe blade style though. I do wish the smaller knife had deep-pocket clip options (I've bugged Hogue about this), but it's my only complaint and not a deal breaker.
I would consider them in the top 10 for upper tier production knives (with Spyderco, Benchmade, Protech, etc.). If you like their design, you won't be dissatisfied.
