Archived [ARCHIVED THREAD] - High End Black Finish Help...?

I’m looking at getting one of my 1911s coated in DLC (PVD Vapor Coating) by Nighthawk Customs

It currently has Ceracoat which is not optimal for a hard use gun.

I have a NH Warhawk in black DLC and the finish is really nice.

Before I pull the trigger on getting it done are there other black finishes that are comparable (Robar or other companies)

I’m looking for a nice black finish that is corrosion resistant and durable

The DLC from NH will run around $400 so that’s the price range I’m in but I’d like to learn more if you have experience....
