Thinking of one of these rifles. Was going to go carbine because of handiness, but am now wondering if the longer barrel would make that much difference with sight radius. Is it worth it over a handier size. It should be a bit quieter also. Has anyone had an issue zeroing these with the factory front sight? Seems some people think the front is too short and need to order a new one. Any experience with this?

Bought one for my son. Smoothest action on a lever gun that I've ever shot. They have a really good reputation for quality. His shoots to point of aim at 25 yds- never heard of the front sight being too short.
