So many models so I was hoping for a little help.

Looking for a DSA FAL with

16 inch barrel
Full length standard handguards
Fixed stock
Carry handle
No optic mount

Not sure if I can get a full length gas/piston system

Which model!??

I would get a full length gas system and a 18 inch barrel

Zero difference in handling. Much more pleasant to shoot blast wise.

Years ago I was able to almost mach 18 barrel ballistics of m80 ball in a 15 inch barrel of a encore pistol by hand loading.

Otherwise it was down 125 to 180 fps depending on who loaded it. While it almost the same as in 21 to 22 inch barrel

I have a 13 inch 7.62 and crutch it by using heavier bullets.

Does DSA make a full length gas system for the 16?

They also now offer chrome lining for about a $75 upcharge.   You need to specify it when ordering.

Most of their 16 inch madels a full legth gas system. Look on the descrition and it will say short gas system on those that have short. They dont say standard on the standard ones.

If you plan on a lot if shooting, you may want to consider the izzy handguards.

I just like the old school fixed stick. Full length handguards and that short 16 inch barrel with the full length gas system.

16 inch barrel is fine for the FAL. Don't really notice a ton of differences between my 21 and 16 inch barrels. The para 17.3" is also a good choice.
