My want for a 416 has somewhat diminished but I do like those receivers.

If you're making a purchase from Brownells, particularly for thousands of $$, don't forget 4% Cashback from Active Junky* or 2.5% cashback from Ebates* to team up with coupon codes.

*Above are my referral links, and we'll both get a bonus if you use the above links.

Because HK does not sell 416 to the public. And the few that made it into circulation cost a shitload, as I pointed out in the other thread.

The only thing 416 in the kit is the upper receiver (porbably...no pics of the rear lug) and the gas block

ETA: There's a 416 10.4" complete upper on GB for $2500 (not the MR556 parts upper). There has been several lately

Everything included in the kit is from an actual 416.

Yes, but the majority of the parts are the same as an MR556.
The noticeable differences are on the upper receivers bolt carrier, and barrels. Gas block too, but those are easily available.

And yet they will probably sell out in a few days....

As crazy as the price is, they will get bought up.
I’ve bought my fair share of HK items and paid way more then I probably should’ve, but it was for items I really wanted to have, all roller lock related. The 416 just doesn’t grab me the same way.  I’ll pass.

Barrels and bolts that are not of HK german origin and are probably a Todd Bailey product. Pass.

I have a mr upper chopped and reprofiled to 416 spec, I picked up a lower for it. I do not see much value in the kits honestly but I'm sure people will buy them.

I believe hey may also have some 417 parts in stock.

It is amazing to me that they managed to get these out of Germany and into the U.S.

Interesting. Thank you for clearing that up. Will the barrels be CHF and chrome lined?

Does 922r come into play with these 416 kits?

10% off $99 or more at Brownells Code 2AD + free shipping

Takes a little sting out of the parts

For someone who has no clue trying to understand the fascination with these, what is the difference in the lower receivers offered by Brownells vs the MR556 ?

Bummer. Would have been great if they’d spec’d through FN, DD, or another for a CHF CL barrel. PWS seems to make quality products. Still good that another option (other than Bailey) is out there for 416 parts.

Manufacturer markings. MR556 has the H&K on left side, MR556 model on the right. Brownells is blank, with FFL info on the front of the magwell.

10% off today at Brownells and active junky puts you under 3500 bucks for all the parts.  Considering this.

Unless you're an SOT wanting full-auto.... I dont see paying $3500 + for an 416 parts kit built on a 3rd-party receiver, compared to buying an MR556, that has HK rollmarks... but to each their own

So what would be the attraction. Of a brownells mix master 416 over an HK MR223?

Seems like neither have the desirable barrel?

MR556 is half way there...it is a german HK barrel...its just not chrome lined...which I do not see a big issue with as long as you take good care of the bore.
