My MR556 was converted by Jason at IGF a few years ago and it includes barrel cut to 10.4", re-profiled to 0.720 diameter and nitrided. I also had IGF switch the MR556 gas block for the 416 OTB gas block. Mine runs great both suppressed and un-suppressed. Cheers

Great looking gun.

My 10.4 is at ADCO for choppage and reprofiling. IAR will have to hold me over until it comes back.

M27 IAR: (yes that is a PSA lower- haters gonna hate) Barrel also nitrided by IGF, hopefully it'll last many moons. To make the M27 more authentic I'm going to take a pocket knife and scratch the piss out of the lenses on the TA11/RMR, rip off the lens caps, lose the BUIS in the mud somewhere, clean the finish off of the BCG but never, under any condition, clean the barrel because thats not inspected. Oh and attach a PEQ15 with 8 zip ties because lord help your soul when that plastic thumb screw breaks and your PEQ falls off into a black hole. And use the bolt lugs to tighten the rail to 120ft lbs of torque.

I noticed that the lower anodizing on my previous (one pictured) was more black. My new one is more blackish grey. Sort of like OP's MR. I'll post pics when I get home. Anyone else notice their lowers a different shade of black than their uppers?

How do you like the Rem Def rail over the quad rail? So far I greatly prefer the Rem Def rail. @Stephen101st is building a 416 clone with a Geiselle rail so I’m looking forward to comparing the two.

My new build is currently rocking a quad rail but going to go to a geissele. I just picked up a 10" vented gas block so next step is barrel cut.

I know it shouldn't bug me but damn it wasn't a cheap rifle, thought I got a good deal for it. Anyone else notice that the BD date code was a little off?

I’m not sure about the BD code issue but you can keep applying CLP to the lower receiver with a gun cloth and it should darken the finish.

I have seen this in some of the latest batches of MR556s......but not in any earlier builds.

The latest builds are so bad, even the grain of the finish is completely different in the upper and lower receivers.

Why Can't you NC doods with cool setups like this live in Western NC in the Appalachian Mountains near Banner Elk. The Few AR15, and AK guys up here along with me are a rare minority, I can count them on one hand, outside of the Local and County Police. It's mostly good ole boys with precision bolt actions, with irons only and or 5k in optics, there is no in between.

Anyways love this setup bro! Like the detail and effort put in, and wish this was more of a trend in the area of NC I frequent lol, kick ass bro!

@TheGreatDanton I did PSD for 2 years in Afghanistan, and it would of been a dream to have that setup you got! By Far my personal favorite in this entire thread!

I normally run 2.33 height (1/3 on top of a 5/8) so this set up is a smidge low for me.

Barrel re-profiled and refinished to HK416 with HK markings stamped on barrel, nitrided, cut to 14.5” and AAC 51T flash hider pinned. It is on a Armalite lower since I live in PRK and it is registered. Wish I could put it on a HK lower
