Howdy!  I bought this beautiful rifle over the weekend.  Its a CZ conversion.  The bore is excellent, overall condition is great.  Ordered a repro sling, S&K insta mount a Leupold 4x long eye relief scope.  Should be a blast to shoot.  Its missing either a screw or a pin for the front barrel band; Im not sure which.  The hole doesnt go through the other side of the band, so Im thinking its a screw.  I havent had any luck googling around.  Can anybody point me in the right direction?
Thanks!!

Can't help you there but it also looks like it is missing it's extractor as well? I can't quite tell from the picture though.

Your problem is the front bad is meant to be used with the leaf spring retainer.

Your stock isn't cut for that ..outs intended to have the band pinned on with a cross pin.

If it's stable and not moving leave it alone

Unfortunately it moves pretty easily.  Should I get one of the stamped/ ribbed ones?

Is that an Israeli stamped gun? Bunch came in maybe in the late 90s or early 2000s out of central america.

Renactors love those, 308 blanks are cheap and easy to find, 8mm on the other had......well.  Not sure on the market now but not long after band of brothers came out the prices on them went sky high....guess a lot of people wanted to play that game.  I always figured that things would come down as people figured it is not really their cup of tea....but I kind of fell out of it as well.

Drill the hole all the way through the stock.... Put a pin through it it'll be fine

Late war K98 rifles had the stamped band with a screw to hold it on.  I do not recall any K98 that used a pin through the stock to hold the front band on.  What is under the band?  Is there a screw hole or no hole?  Stock might not be original to the rifle.  I know at one time there were allot of sraeli K98 new stocks available.  Mine was a wartime FN K98 that was converted to 7.62, still had a few German proof marks.

You also need a front sight hood.

I would just go get a short roll pin for the front band to keep it in place

Google the part k98 band spring.  Numrich has them
I think it would still work with your stock.

Nope, the stock isn't cut for the dual retaining band spring

I've had 3 that had pins going all the way through to hold the front retainer. These were all FN with large IDF crests.
I've had 2 with spring pin bands and a relief cut in the stock. These were stamped parts guns built on Czech recievers

Last time I got parts I got them from sarco.
