You sir are living the dream. I have your panzerfaust book and it’s awesome. Good luck on this endeavor.

Question: my dream is to form 1 a M1a1 and/or M9a1 bazooka. I’ve built several replicas and have the materials to build one that’s live. The issue is a rocket that isn’t a DD, i.e. less than 4oz propellant. Is this something you’d ever entertain taking on? Would it even be worth trying? I realize refueling spent m7a1 practice rounds wouldn’t work due to weight. I’ve researched the original propellant in depth and found that it was rods of Ballistite (sp?) that surrounded the electric igniter. However I can’t find much in regards to the formulation of that material.

My point is do you think a workable, non DD projectile could be worked up that would function in a 2.36” launcher and not be a death trap? I think a lot of what you are doing would translate well to the 2.36” platform.

Enough hijacking your thread, if you care to discuss please pm me.

If i wasn’t drawn the the flash and it’s over the top look, I’d be making a replica of the bazooka

With the diameter of the Bazooka rocket motor it is definitely doable and keep it under 4 ounces however you’d probably need to make the rocket from a new motor tube and nozzle to be safe. If you are making it for your personal use, you can likely use a variety of propellants for it . I’m using this for commercial purposes so I’m limited to APCP as the ATF deemed it a non explosive material.

Rockets are inherently dangerous as they can explode for many reasons. I’d never recommend firing it over the shoulder and it really should be done remotely. The last launcher Nick fired it over the shoulder , I advised against it but he insisted and knew the risks. It went well but that’s no guarantee  things can’t go wrong next time

Reach out if you have any more questions , and double check your local laws

I bought a M9 bazooka reflex sight as it was as close to the original as I could get

Will you be dressing in period costume, or will you go throwback and use the robes from a galaxy far, far away?

I'm excited to see this built, have always been a fan of the m202 from watching the movie commando growing up.

I should really make the book cover a tribute to the commando scene with Arnold holding it lol unfortunately I don’t have the muscles to pull it off ,

I applied for my form 1 and currently pending research as there’s non in the registry

Decided to go with carbon fiber tubes for the main barrels and the rocket clip barrels will be aluminum and can be easier to replace as they more disposable

I got a chance to shoot a 4 round magazine through one of those back in 1978 when I was stationed at Ft. Lewis, WA with the 9th Infantry Division.  Awesome weapon, but it's an bulky POS to try and carry with a rucksack.

The barrels came in, made from carbon fiber, roll wrapped. Very lightweight , well worth the money

Thanks for the feedback, It’s great to have user stories with this design as it will help to tell the story of it better in the book

Someone was very generous and donated an original M202a1 reflex sight, I had planned to use the Bazooka sight but having the real deal will make it more authentic

Also heard back from my Lawyer who reached out to several places and confirmed the 4 ounce fuel limit does not apply to my rockets as the “warhead” is inert. That will allow me to make much faster rockets.

That's slick as hell, man.  Will that also fire the LAW 66 mm anti-armor rockets?

The original was disposable, incendiary only.

I'm sure his will fire anything he wants it to fire.

The M202 were reusable, they were loaded with preloaded clips . Those clips would be discarded and a new clip inserted  into the launcher

I’m planning to do composite rockets made from fiberglass and carbon fiber

My payload will be fire extinguisher powder and use it as a fire suppression device since I don’t have an FEL or can’t afford $200 for incendiary rounds

Do you have a shipping procedure that doesn't kowtow to the Global Warming communists?

The 4 telescoping barrels are all aluminum, they just have 3d printed sleeves to solve a spacing issue
