So that Black Hot video....Does the unit ship standard with built in shake, or do you have to order that much shake as a separate addon?

About time you finally put some videos up.
just kidding. Thank you very much.

which do you like better? This device or your scout three?

The newest version of the scout three 640 with the big lens is pretty nice. Does this one beat it?

Thanks

I got this one specifically for the clear ultra WFOV, it certainly is much better than my old LS-64s and LS-XRs.

It is a super nice scanner for my purposes with amazingly good long range ID capability, the 25mm lens version would be terrific in wide open spaces, especially large peanut and soybean ag fields.

How far would you say you can ID / detect?

Skypup,

Thanks for posting the videos. I'm an LS64 user currently. Looks like the 25mm lens scion will give about the same field of view. Is that correct?

Also, have you tried rechargeable batteries in your scion? 4.5 hours of battery life per 6 CR123 would get expensive...

With this lens, 300 yards ID, 7-800 yards detect.

I have two LS64s and two LS-XRs with 35mm lenses, the 25mm lens would have about the same FOV as them.

I tried using three 16650s, no joy....

Bummer on the 16650s. With the contacts you have at FLIR do they suggest any alternatives over 6XCR123 ($7-12 per 4 hour hunt) or would I be stuck? I haven't found a good rechargeable CR123 yet. Any out there?

Thanks for the user info. The picture and features are sure a lot nicer than what I currently have for a scanner at about half the entry cost of my LS64 6 years ago.

Turn off WiFi, Bluetooth, and GPS for more run time up to 8 hrs.

There is a New Bluetooth app coming out to communicate with it.

Also, there is a new internal rechargeable battery pack coming out soon to replace the 2 to 6 CR-123s with a Li ion battery pack for 10-12 hr runtime.

IMHO, it is the most bang for the buck hand scanner with excellent performance and features for the price, I paid $2,995 for mine direct from FLIR.

Currently, for using it on a stand, I have a 27,000 Anker rechargeable to plug into the micro-C port, but use the batteries for hiking and scanning...

Does it have the 1/4-20 on the bottom? That’d be fun to play with depending on how good the app works

The PDF manual that comes with it leaves a lot to be desired.

Needs to explain more on hooking up WiFi and waiting for the Bluetooth app to come out? Also turning off the GPS.

I was able to insert a 64 GB Sandisk micro SD card but the damn manual shows no illustration of how to install the SD under the battery pack?

Tried out a friends OTM 266 with the 25mm lens last night, it is a very powerful hand scanner, FOV is about the same as my LS-XRs and LS-64s.

I am thinking of getting one for ag fields hunting when I need to cover out 800-1,000 yards.

This unit is only useful for spotting targets, right? Not useful for using as a rifle scope type thing?

This is a powerful thermal hand scanner, it is not a thermal weapon scope.

Video quality looks nice. How does it compare to something considered top notch, like Trijicon thermal? Other than FOV.

A out the same.

I called FLIR CS today and asked directly. Was told the rechargeable battery pack was still "in development" with no ETA at this time

Bummer....
