Just trying to figure out what I have, looks like a No1 MK3.

I pulled this bronze disk and leather wrap off a Enfiled in Afghanistan, she will be correct one day when I score the proper wood, barrel bands etc.

That's a good price. The forestock is the hardest part to find for both No4 and SMLE. They're more available for the SMLE over the No4 and the nice ones go for a shit ton of money on Ebay.

BSA WWII-made SMLE Mk. III*. Build date worn/weakly stamped but will be 1943. These are sometimes referred to as "dispersal" rifles as production was dispersed to various small factories and town shops after the BSA plant at Small Heath was bombed in August of 1940.

What's the date on the barrel? It's under the handguard.

Thanks

I will have to pull off the handguard and check.

Cool that it's a BSA as my Henry Martini is a BSA.

I can vouch for Liberty Tree.  I got a K98 stock from them, it was much better than described.

Liberty Tree Enfield stuff

Post pics when you get into the project.

I restored a long branch last year.  Great shooter.  The forestock is the hard part but arfcom members generously hooked me up from closet stashes.  I gave my sporterized take off set away in similar fashion.

There are a couple of Facebook groups. Someone is making stocks but I think they are for SMLE but not sure. I can't find the post now. The groups are great to help too.

Very nice rifle. Enjoy it!
