MERRIMACK, N.H. —
A local tech company speciailizing in military contracts celebrated a special milestone Tuesday.

Elbit Systems of America presented the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps with the company's 500th pair of night vision goggles.

The goggles help fighter pilots instantly see targets in complete darkness.

Elbit, which employs 500 people in Merrimack, has been working on the project since 2014.

"We're very proud of our defense industry and our aerospace industry here in New Hampshire. Elbit Systems in one of a host of large and small companies that really drive a big portion of our economy," said Taylor Caswell, commissioner for the New Hampshire Department of Business and Economic Affairs.

The $120 milion contract is expcted to last until 2024.

Reminds me strongly of a PVS-5. Interesting that the objectives appear dark. IR filters preinstalled?
