Was given a new in box Eickhorn KM 2000. Definitely a heavy duty knife, tanto style. Any one know about them? Worth keeping?
Specifications:
The length overall is 11.811 inch
The blade length is: 6.693 inch
Steel Quality: N695 (HRC 57)
Black coated, special stainless steel made by “BÖHLER”  / Germany. The KM 2000 blade has serrations on one cutting edge. Maintenance free ergonomically designed black all weather handle grip to MIL specification. Glass fiber reinforced Polyamide insulated handle is designed to withstand a surge of no less than 1000 volts. Exposed tang at handle end for glass breaking. All metals are corrosion resistant according to U.S. MIL-STD-171 Salt Spray (Fog) test. MIL spec – 40°C to  + 80°C operating temperatures. The handle has a lanyard hole. The sheath has a sapphire resharpening surface. Sheath will fit on all US carry systems

I'd probably sell that.

It might be a high quality knife, but from a usefulness standpoint....the blade is setup all wrong.  Tanto, straight belly, shallow height, saber grind AND serrated.  That's a lot of weight, improperly balanced, and the steel isn't very hard.

If you are into collecting stuff, it might be a keeper.....but for me, no thanks.
