Spanish M44 Mauser in 7.92x57mm (8mm Mauser). Started life as a Polish Wz. 29 rifle provided to the Republican Spanish forces during the 1936-1939 Spanish Civil War. Refurbished in the 1940s for use by the Spanish Air Force. During refurbishment, these rifles were rebuilt with a smattering of various Mauser 98 parts available on hand (Polish, German, Czech, Turkish, and some Spanish-made), most of the old markings were scrubbed, and the rifle was then remarked with a new serial and the Air Force crest.

Probably the cleanest stamped crest I have seen on a Spanish AF rifle.
