It looks like the shockwave uses the shorter pump, so I might need the hogue pump extension... but whether I end up needing the extension or not, does the Hogue 05032 compact stock and forend kit fit the Mossberg 590 shockwave without having to hack things up?

Yeah, that's what I'm worried about... clearing the magazing tube barrel lug.

The fore-arm needs modification. Even the adapter nut won't work.

If you do it right, you can recess the castle nut into the fore-arm.

Interesting. Looks like a fun project.

Do I only need the Hogue forend & stock kit and I won't be needing the extended nut? I'm not planning to add a sling mount or MFT light to the mag tube; so I'm assuming I can just counterbore out the front of the Hogue forend so that the original pump castle nut recesses back into the grip and the very front of the pump forend telescopes over the mag tube barrel lug when the pump arm is fully forward? Is the hogue grip is wide enough for this?

I guess worst case scenario is I just shorten the forend with a bandsaw like you did

How do you like the MFT light - is it bright enough for home defense at night?

There should be enough material to bore out for the castle nut.

The light isn't that great, but It's enough to ID a Target indoors/at night.

Also it weighs almost nothing/doesn't stick out much at all.

@Capt_Destro

Thanks for the intel.
Any way I could get a pic of the front profile with that MFT? It really does look like it hugs tight to the gun.

It hugs really close. I like it because it still lets the gun fit in a scabbard.
