As the title says, do I need to pin the flash suppressor to my barrel before I change out the pads to prevent creating an unregistered SBR while it doesn’t have a butt pad on?

You are concerned with OAL not barrel length.

It must be 26 inches

Measure it if you want to be sure.

But given that you’re disassembling it to add new parts I would venture to say no.

Id say no it’s disassembled at that point. If you are really paranoid about it pull out the bcg and barrel assembly before hand until the swaps over not like it can operate like that and when it’s put back together it’s going to be over 26”.

If you are going to pin and weld anyways you might as well go for the slim buttpad instead of the manticore one.
