I'll set aside some money as I wouldn't mind having another.

Last time it caught me off guard. Won't make that mistake again

Knowing that, I'm tempted to apply to be an LMT dealer and see how cheap I can order their receivers for...

DSA told me, in person, in 2018, "by the end of the year and for cheaper than before."

I went to Iraq and back, got married, had a kid, and built a horse barn in the mean time...

I don't think LMT offers receivers without barrels. Edit: Yes they do. See below.
Dealer cost is about 1k for a complete standard M203.

Also TXMGO and others, but I think they buy complete and part them out.

^ This. I've heard of a couple people running into issues with the ones from TXMGO where the letter to update the NFRTR wasn't executed in time. This caused the persons form 1 to be denied.

LMT definitely sells title 1 receivers, they are on their website still
https://lmtdefense.com/product-category/firearms/gl/

TXMGO does buy them complete, and then sells them separately. Which caused me a huge pain in the ass when the atf denied my form 1 twice over 6 months of me owning the m203. Saying it's still a DD owned by Sean. Sean said he would deal with the atf and fix it. Which ended up NOT happening and I had to fax in a letter saying it was removed from the registry. When I complained they just offered to refund me my money when none were in stock anywhere and prices were skyrocketed and I already engraved my info on it.

Complete mess that should never have happened

Thanks, I should've looked there first.
When I bought mine it wasn't an option direct from LMT.

Indeed.

Would you say your letter is the best way to fix the denial if the seller isn't helpful? (I would think so.)
Care to post it?

A faxed letter is the only way to fix it. Just simply say LMT M203 grenade launcher, serial number #### is not longer an NFA item. Please remove it from the registry as it is not title 1.

Send it every week til you get a response. Cuz they may just lose it. But they won't fix it over the phone. It has to be a letter

How much does DSA typically charge for a receiver? I see they have barrels for $325, that's nice.

You're cutting it up?  Then it's not a Title 1 anymore.  Removing the rifled bbl, then it's not a Title 2.

"Typically" doesn't really apply. Because the one time they offered them, they were selling Mexican contract overruns. They do however make the receivers and forgings in-house, but were subcontracting the small parts. When I talked to them at KCR in 2018 (when they planned to start production back up that year...) they said they would probably switch to 100% in-house. And the price would come down from the <600 bucks they were charging.

600 bucks is game changing. People want 400-600 just for a receiver parts kit.

You are correct. Not title 2 anymore. I meant to say it is now title 1

Has anyone seen a DSA rail mounted m203? I just stumbled across one listed as in stock at usarmamentcorp. Thought it was a typo til I saw the picture.

Ordered it on Thursday. They are down the road from me. Hopefully they are more responsive to orders than to inquiries. They said they do eform3 so hopefully will be at my SOT in a few weeks. I'll ge photos and take it out to our range.

Is that just for the receiver or the whole thing? My LMT equivalent wasn’t that much all said n done....but that was pre-nutty prices

Colts used to sell for a few grand each. And this is the only rail mount dsa m203 I've ever seen or heard of, so it is interesting

That's the first I've heard or seen of DSA producing a rail mount receiver. It's noticeably different from LMT's design as well.

Yes, came out to 2k with taxes, waiting for them to submit form3 so it can be shipped 40 miles north.

Yes complete unit and yes pricey but that's the pricing today. My last one was around $1100. Practically nobody has them in stock and this was in stock and in state, no delays.

We are now at 9 days since I paid and us armament ghosted me, not picking up the phone. I emailed them. If Form 3 isn't filed by Friday and haven't heard back from them, I'll initiate chargeback.

22lr is the rifled barrel adapter from reloadable shells
12ga - no idea other than it was issued to a police department swat guy between 1970s and 2005. Neighbor tossed it to me after watching me play with my M79 a few years ago. He's a retired popo. He had a dept issued m79 and had random accessories left over like bandoliers etc.

Overpriced novelty, but I couldn't resist ordering one. Mostly I like chalk and playing with 3d printed rounds.
