Yes, clips seem cheaper made and they do not repair or replace any old company products. GSM also purchased SOG brand last year….

I took a chance and ordered a Recon Tanto and it definitely isn't as sharp out of the box as the one I got a couple of years back, grind is a little uneven as well. |

Part of my "before GSM fucks Cold Steel" panic buy:
 I already modified the Drop Forged Bowie to remove the despised upper guard and added a very much needed cord handle:  Not shown but on their way: - Drop Forged Boot Knife (arrived, but no pics) - GI Tanto in - Recon Tanto in SK-5 |

Picked up a Recon 1 tanto recently. Had one years ago. It didn't seem as sharp out of the box. Didn't see anything wonky with the grind.

Quality/sharpness, all that: That Recon Tanto blade in San Mai (group pic above) is the sharpest blade I've ever received from anyone, including a couple custom makers.
