Has anyone ever had issues with case BODY getting work hardened?

I have some .308 brass that I realized I've had.....for a very long time.  Started loading it for a 700 I had ages ago, then when I moved to a semi platform, I just kept the brass.  I'd have a split neck here or there, but nothing really indicating a *need* to anneal.  In fairness, I never really got close to max loads in anything i've ever put it through, so it never really crossed my mind.

But I've had issues with some pieces of brass either *EXTREMELY* difficult to resize, or getting stuck in the die altogether.

Just kinda mulling over possible causes and that's one that comes to mind as a possible, but a cursory search on the ol' webs didn't really yield much info.  It *WAS* cursory though.

Anyone ever have this issue?

Is the hard to size brass once fired military?

Who fires brass once in several years?  sorry, i know i didn't specify so that's on me. but....it's all commercial. I stay away from military brass for 308.

I have a very generous friend offering up spankin new lapooey brass for me, to replace all my old brass.  I'm taking him up on that tomorrow, so i'll be adding a lot to the scrap bucket....few more years it'll be full and worth a couple bucks at the scrap buyer.

Thanks for the responses fellas.
