I ordered a grab bag from budk.com
And just got it today. I was surprised to see that in it was a pouch design to carry 24 12 GA shot shells. I have been looking at this pouch for a while thinking it would work for 50 BMG cases as well. Since I got one today I tried it and it holds 8 50 BMG rounds great

I have a 12 GA nylon belt that I was using but didn't work as well as I wanted. This pouch should work very well since they are enclosed and I can open it all the way to have better access. The only draw back is only 8 rounds.
I also have several 10 round plastic boxes

What is everyone else using to. Carry the ammo? For me the full 50 call ammo. Can is to heavy and to many rounds for a casual shooting session for me. Imostly carry 20 rounds so I don't piss off to many people at the public range :)

Get a MTM case gard for 12GA ammo, take out one of the trays and it will hold 50 rounds.

You can take the extra tray, trim it and it will fit into a 50 Cal ammo can. Either one will allow you to put rounds in the can and length won't matter. It will hold rounds up to 6"+ in length, so don't worry about that

The 12 GA are tight, you can get the 10GA if the 12 bother you. If you don't want to put the extra trays into a .50 can, you can use them to hold your .50 cases while you reload.

The other thing to remember is that the MTM cases are not air tight like a military ammo can. So be sure to keep them stored in a good place high enough to keep them dry.

I have about 500 rounds stored in their original ammo can. I also have a ammo can full of reloads for long term. Storage I have a bunch of the mtm style cases for field use I have electrical tape around the edge to make Them tighter and give a little bit moisture protection

Awesome, on amazon those are about the same price as the the 10rd mtm boxes. Just put one in my cart to try, thanks for posting

i just bought 3 of these from a guy on SnipersHide
Holds 20 rounds individually
i highly recommend

J&J products has a foam tray that fits inside their utility box or the MTM 12 ga box, it's what I use. Their utility box is not as tall inside so my match rounds will not fit in the J&J box.

I carry 60 Match rounds in a 50Cal ammo can, and 77 rounds in a Fat50 ammo can, and 138 rounds in a SA ammo box for 2700 5.56 ROUNDS.

I have multiple cans of each, with inserts from a guy in Minneapolis. Tim Foreman - can't think of his company.

My 808 Match rounds exceed 6" long.
