Can't believe I've never posted in here. One day I'll buy a 14" factory barrel assembly and do a pin and weld with a suppressor mount TBD. I don't want to do the PMM barrel chop because I like the way the factory barrels flare out a bit before the threading.

By the way, does anyone have any ideas about how to lower the front sight post if I don't have a front sight tool? Is it even possible? My EOTech is zeroed at 200 yards, but my front sight is just a little bit high and right. I've read you're supposed to adjust the front sight and leave the rear centered so you can make adjustments for windage and elevation on the fly.

Good looking rifle! As far as adjusting the front sight, the easiest thing is to get a four prong AR front sight tool. If you don’t have that, I think you could get by with a small hex key pressing the detent down and some pliers to grab onto the post to rotate it. But really, front sight tools can be had for cheap online and they make it really easy and don’t risk scratching anything.

So I have Razor 1-6 on the way and I’m looking for a mount that not to much of a knuckle dragger for my 17. Ideally I’d like the giessele mount but from what I can tell it’s probably one of the worse ones for the knuckles. I’m also looking at the larue spr-e or the adm recon-x. Does anyone have any experience with these mounts and running the stock charging handle on the left side?

And since this is a pic thread, my 17. Have an ecp on the way.

I ran the Geissele SOPMOD mount with a Razor on my SCAR for a while. I have the IWC charging handle on my rifle and I never hit my knuckles on the bolts for the mount. The charging handle kind of points down and it's a bit longer, so after you get used to where to grab it, you really don't even have an opportunity to hit your knuckles. I mean, if you grab the CH right near the receiver you will, but obviously you don't want to do that. YMMV

I use the Giessele mount on my SCAR17 with the NFX 1-8 and the mount flipped backwards and it works perfectly. No busted knuckles.

Painted it all over with the Rustoleum Khaki Camo, and then I streaked it with Rustoleum Army Green(lighter green) and Krylon OD Green just sort of alternating the streaks.

Then when that had dried a good bit I took the Krylon OD green and the Rustoleum Forest Green and held the can about 12-14 inches away and just lightly misted the entire rifle to blend it all together. Once that had dried a little but I also misted it with the Rustoleum Earth Brown as well.

What length barrel is that? How do you like it? Debating sending mine off to PMM to get a 10.5 barrel. Very hesitant to mess with the harmonics. Would be shooting it supresssed 75% of the time if I did. Putting my hybrid on a 16” scar barrel makes it beeyblong and awkward lol

10", chopped by PMM and I really like it. They install a new gas jet when they cut so it runs perfect with and without can. PMM currently has my 17 barrel for a chop/pin to 16"
