7.62 guns still fucked up?

Cz still doesnt have a fix, Hbi spring and cleaning the ejector channel have done wonders in getting mine to run reliably. (My ejector channel had lots of metal shavings that prevented the plunger from compressing correctly and thus would bind). Only 200 rounds in after cleaning the ejector channel but all have been trouble free both suppressed and unsuppressed.
The difference in ejection was night and day after cleaning the channel as well. I know sweet5ltr has had really good success with his gun and these same changes. |

If the ejector is binding due to debris in the channel, it will FTE - regardless if the (must have IMHO) HBI recoil spring & gas port service is done. This is a QC issue that likely involves hundreds of Bren 2 bolts in 7.62x39, but of course, no one at CZ-USA cares to mention it or has spare bolts to do anything about it for owners. CZ-USA has yet to send back one functional Bren 2, they aren't even trying, its beyond insulting at this point for customers who requested warranty repairs in this volatile environment. |

Finally got an answer back from CZ the other day, pretty much told me they are just sitting with thumbs in asses waiting for CZ-UB to come up with an answer. Not sure how what HBI and others have found/come up with factor into this. Wouldn't be surprised if my gun ends up with CZ for a year or over at this rate.

Most recent communication from CZ:
Hello sir Regarding your Bren 2 in 7.62x39, we apologize for any issues you may be experiencing. A small number of pistols have been exhibiting ejection issues, and we’ve been working hand-in-hand with our factory’s design team to make them better digest the wide range of ammo available in the US. In the meantime, we are happy to bring in your pistol. If waiting for the factory’s resolution isn’t your preference, we can issue a refund for your full purchase price or swap you to a Bren 2 Ms in 5.56x45. In either instance, we’d need copies of your original sales receipt. If you choose to do the swap to 5.56, we’d need a copy of the FFL you’d use to do the transfer of the new rifle. Again, apologies for any issues you’re experiencing. Thank you! Blaming the ammo and you already have my pistol. Also if its an ammo issue why is it only affecting a "small number of pistols" that does not make sense. This incompetence is beyond me. |

If they are offering full refunds I would jump at that if I bought one. Better than dealing with customer service or a dust collector vapor ware in the safe

Only reason I haven't refunded it is because I got the 2S. If I had the 2MS I woulda gotten a refund months ago.

Anyone else producing Mil style pic rails for the MS? I've seen the Preston ones, and they leave a lot to be desired.

The Preston Precision rails are actually nicely machined and fit snug. It's the hardware they use that's less than desired. I installed them with Torx button head screws, after getting the measurements and Nord-Lock washers that I ordered online. Attached File |

Installed my rails I got from the Czech Republic today. Still running like a sewing machine after another 500 rounds of Golden Tiger.

The 4 screws for the barrel were my main concern. Their tiny hex at 40 in/lb and no Nord-Lock washers just seemed wholly inadequate... ETA, I see they upped the torque to 60 in/lb... All the rest, I could've just kept using what they sent but I'm ocd. T25 torx works! |

Local place has the 11" 5.56 version for $1699 plus tax.... tempting, but I really don't need another 556 pistol... or even a 556 gun for that matter... Does the 556 version have any of the issues that we've seen with the 7.62 version?

Also FYI, over on the Original CZ Forum, Gman86 drilled a series of ever enlarging holes at the 0 position of his gas tube, starting with 0.8mm before he reached the sweet spot of 1.2 - 1.23mm on his 14” x39 Bren - useful information there!

Well, so much for cleaning out the ejector channel. Took my gun out and had multiple FTE/stovepipes again. I'm honestly done messing with it. I've been having problems since last May, we'll see if CZ can get a fix out before the 1 year mark.

Took about 2 1/2 months but waiting and paying $180 ish for one is better than getting one off GB for $400+ imho. |

Stolen Firearm: Colt AR15, Serial # SP342380, 16" carbine. Stolen in California by Kevin Ayres, and taken to Missouri.

Falling in love with my scar 17 I recently purchased. I love my ARs but it's just fun shooting the different piston platform. I am really debating grabbing a 16 but if these things run well (in 556) I think I'd get more bang for my buck grabbing a bren instead.
I'm definitely going to be on the lookout for one rather than a MPX or scar in 556. These things seem like a blast and I need something different. Getting back into the AK platform just seems like it's too much to figure out and I'd love to stay with what I have as far as mags and ammo. If these are well under 2k and work I'm thinking I should be on the lookout. |

When I ordered mine it was $155 plus $25 shipping. Very reasonable. I see now that the stock is currently out of stock as of 2/10 but the price has jumped to $195 plus shipping, which is the same price as the carbine stock. Not happy with the price increase but it's still reasonable considering the possibility that if biden cuts off foreign imports of gun parts as he is threatening, it might not be available at all in the future. Whether the stock is in stock or not, you can still order it and it will be shipped when it is available, which seems to be pretty regularly. |
