There is a commercial 6 position stock on my rifle   Will my buffer and spring work in a mil spec tube ?

Yes. It is just the tube and stock that has the paired requirement

Also a mil spec stock will be a bit loose but it will work.

You might mean a commercial spec stock.

To clarify, a commercial spec or MIL-Spec receiver extension will fit the receiver the same, and either will allow the same internals (buffer and spring) and hardware (castle nut and lockplate). A MIL-Spec receiver extension is smaller in diameter so a MIL-Spec buttstock will fit more snugly than a commercial spec buttstock. A commercial spec buttstock will attach to a MIL-Spec tube, but loosely (rattles).

There is also a difference at the butt end - flat vs. slightly angled. Forget which is which and not sure if it actually makes a difference in function or if it just a handy visual identifier to differentiate the two since w/o side by side comparison a few hundredths of an inch is very hard to determine.
