Brent Snodgrass, who along with Vic Thomas created Gunboards.com and led it to be the premier C&R website, died a few days ago.

He was young as in his very early 50s.  I never spoke to Brent, who went by Tuco on Gunboards, but we had exchanged IM and emails over the years.  He was a prince of a guy.

Brent was also an author, tour guide for trips to Finland, and an internet pioneer for gun owners.  He and Vic created Gunboards first and foremost to share their love of the Russian Three Line rifle, aka, Mosin-Nagant, and the military history of Finland.

Until I remarried in 2011, I spent many hours on Gunboards.  Sadly, many of the really old guard have died.  The 2000s were the glory days for milsurp imports and many in the “Cruffler” community shared our findings with others.  Because of Vic and Brent I was able to become a researcher for Karl-Heinz Wrobel on his 2 volume set on the Mosin-Nagant that was published in Germany in German.

God bless Brent and his family at these hard times.

He was a good dude.
I ordered a m91 handgaurd from him and he was a little late getting it mailed out so he send the hand guard to me and refunded my money.

I bought a Mosin in 99 and joined that page right away. I always figured Tuco was older than that because his depth of knowledge was so vast. He was a really good guy.

That explains why the Trader forum was renamed. Didn’t know the man but always sad to hear. I’m sure his knowledge, expertise, and friendship will be missed by many.

Spent many  hours on Gunboards and they were and are a great group of guys. Tuco was pretty good people and there was a time where a group buy was being put together by him that I was part of on some T34's , but it didnt work out.
