before you do it, try shooting it with that stock that it comes with - you might really like it! unless you are going to put optics on it

I want a replacement stock for fa a Savage Axis 6.5 Cm I won. It shoots pretty good, but the synthetic stock is more like rubber than plastic.  Boyds seems to be the only option.

I have two of them I really like them.  I would buy another one.

I've got a CZ 527 FS with the hog back, I don't mind it at all, even with a 1-4 Accupoint mounted.

Try it first, you might like it.

Great stocks, but once you click submit its yours. They don't do cancellations even if you catch a mistake you made an hour after the order.

Mine looks nice but so far has been a nightmare. The "v" blocks aren't spaced correctly & it needs a lot of work just to get the barreled action to drop in. I can't recommend them.

Decided to just go with the hog back stock and see how I feel about it.

I'm an old guy and it's not like I'm going be shooting it a lot.

Yep, I agree with the others.  The Hogback stock doesn't look that great, but it's actually really comfortable to use if you're shooting the irons.

I too would suggest you shoot it with that stock prior to ordering a different stock.

My two have the "hog back" stock.  Prior to putting scopes on the (1-.416, 1-.375 H&H) I took them to the range to sight them in with the iron sights.  After zeroing them on the bench, I tried shooting off hand and off sticks.  I found when shouldering the rifle at a 10" paper plate, I was looking down the sights with perfect sight alignment.  I was able to get accurate and very fast shots off.  Try it before you spend your money.

I put a 3X9 Leupold on the .375 and a 3X old Weaver with a post reticle on the .416.  Shooting both, no face slap like i've found with the "American" comb.

The other option would be to source a stock from CZ. They make wood and composite with straight combs.

I had guys tells me the Hog Back type stocks are actually pretty nice for iron use. Even with scopes they say they work good if you mount the scope low.

I have one Boyds stock and other than a really small blemish in the grain(looks like a scratch but isn't)it's a nice stock.

Last 3 firearms I bought wood for at Boyd's fit perfect, little if no fitting. Great prices for the quality.

If you were interested in one of the more traditional stocks Bell & Carlson also makes a stock specifically for the CZ 550 Safari rifles.  CZ puts it on some of their factory models and they call it the "aramid composite."

I had a older Tacticool stock on a Savage rimfire.  I had to fit the barrel channel to get the stock off the barrel.  It favored toward the 1 side.  It was otherwise unremarkable.
