My BX25 mags are flawless in my RAR, haven't used them in a 10/22 though

Ruger mags in any capacity are what you seek.

Not sure on who's the best price on 10 rnd magazines but these are nice to have, you can have 30 rounds which doesn't extend from the rife more than 5".

Some say good, some say junk.  The steel lipped B/C mags seem to work better.  I've got 3 or 4 of the 25 rd. B/C mags and the all function good.  But I agree the Ruger factory mags in any capacity are the best and will last the longest.

I have over a dozen of the Butler Creek steel lips mags and have never had an issue with them. I have one BX 25 mag and it is damn near impossible to get it in my take down 10 22.

I have used the Butler Creek steel lips for years. I never had any function problems unless the ammo was dirty. I'm not sure if the factory mags would do much better with dirty ammo.

This.  My Ruger mags (25/15/10) have all been excellent.  If they ever give you an issue open them up and wipe them down with a DRY rag.  No lube.  Dirt form dirty .22lr is the only thing that has ever stopped mine.

Butler Creek with metal lips are okay but not as reliable in my experience.

I run the Ruger flush 10 rounder, the BX-15 my Charger came with, and the GSG 110 round drum mag.

Of the three, the 10 round flush runs any and all crappy lead nose ammo I've got, the BX-15 & drum will occasionally misfeed on that stuff but runs any copper washed ammo with no problems. Surprisingly, the drum seems to keep up with the BX-15.

From what I've read the Butler Creek stuff is hit n miss. BUT there also seems to be a lot of variation between Ruger 10/22s in the magwell opening in the stock. I'd read an old thread about someone who had several 10/22s from different years and each one had their 'preference' on what mags they ran best with.
