Got my Brownells BRN22 railed 10/22 receiver and Tactical Solutions barrel.
Not even close to fitting out of the box.
Next I dropped the barrel in the freezer, ran some emery to knock the finish down on the receiver and put the heat gun on it long enough that I needed gloves to handle it. Put a dab of antiseize on the barrel and it goes in maybe 1/8" before stopping. I have to use a mallet to seperate them at this point. No way I could install further w/out pressing it in. Also, no way to twist the barrel to line it up.
What do you all recommend I do next?

Lol I’m dumb, this is for 10/22, not AR
I edit accordingly.

Use some 80 grit 1” wide, cloth-backed sandpaper to take just enough material off the barrel.

Run the sandpaper like you are buffing a shoe. Rotate the barrel an 1/8 at regular intervals to keep it round.

Take a little off and try to fit.

Bingo. Little by little dont get carried away.

Another trick is to roll the barrel back and forth on a flat table while holding the sandpaper against it.

Put the receiver in the oven at 200-250 deg f.

I’ll try that. I’m thinking I’ll leave the bolt in it to line the extractor up with the groove. Any issues with that?

and barrel in the freezer

I had to do this with a VERY tight BCM upper and barrel last year.
Worked like a charm

I used the barrel in the freezer, torch on the receiver method.  When I shoved them together, I had less than a second to line up the slot, then it wouldn’t move.  Its the most accurate 22lr semi I’ve ever owned.

I put a little anti seize on the barrel. Froze it and put the receiver in the oven.

To line it up I held the barrel in my hand and tapped the ear of the magazine well with a rubber hammer. Don't go crazy
