So i was thinking that I would like some type of heavy suppressive fire type rifle that i could use a binary trigger in, you know for shits and giggles!

I want to stick to magazine feed, not really wanting to deal with belts.

Surplus ammo is preferable
8mm
7.62x54r
308

Was thinking of a yugo m76 w/mg13 or other mag
Ar10
Bm59

What are my other options?

The correct answer is a NFA registered M-60.  Sure, it’s going to be expensive, but if you need suppressing fire, it’s the only way to be sure!

That MM-11 looks interesting.  Obviously lower price rifle means more to spend on ammo.

I dont have the funds/time for an M-60.  If i did, i would go the MG42/build route.

DPM and make your own binary?

Easiest will be an AR with a binary.

Soviet LMG fed from a flat pan magazine on top in 7.62x54r. 26lbs, 50" long. Only found in parts kits though.

No love for the RPK oe AES10b? Sad…

Or build an RPK-ish AR, I think there was a thread on that a while ago.  I suppose you could do the same with an AR-10… 24” HBAR, bipod and binary trigger and lots of mags!

I’ll stick with my RPK

Here is a BAR or some kind of clone thereof. Can’t say I know much about them as far as transferable go.

Those are are quite large and pack a lot of recoil. Fine if you’re shooting a heavy weapon like a M60 or M240B but an AR10 will be all over the place shooting full auto or binary. Also the mags hold less than smaller calibers and the cost per round is higher.

As for surplus ammo you’re about a decade late to that party, maybe even more. The WWII and Cold War surpluses have all dried up or the government is restricting access to them.

Good luck getting one , but find yourself one of these https://www.forgottenweapons.com/light-machine-guns/fn-model-d-bar/

". . .  1/4 inch shorter for shorter cartridges (primarily the 7 57, 8 57, and 7.62 NATO). The 7.62 NATO variant was designated the FN-DA1, and used the same magazine as FN's FAL rifle. . . "

Yeah surplus ammunition prices aren't whst they used to be but,
8mm mauser ammo starts at 40¢ per round
7.62x54r starts at 53¢ per round
308 starts at 62¢ per round

So if you are buying 10k rounds 8mm makes sense.

A belt fed would be pretty sweet MG42/PKM

Or a heavy barrel FAL

I say get a 1919

You can feed them from belts or links and easy to convert calibers from 30-06, 8mm, .308, 7.62x64R and even 7.62x39 so you can shoot whatever you find the cheapest. If a transferable is not in the cards for you you can get one of those crank fire things for it.

Parts are readily available though not as cheap as they were and the guns keep going up in price. They are heavy but you said suppressive fire so not sure how much moving around with it you’re talking of doing.

I haven’t looked for one in a while but do know they got expensive.

I had a complete build .308 semi but sold it when I bought my transferable.

I used to think that way too until I started tinkering with a DPMS G2 and have mine running pretty smooth.  It does have some tweaking I still need to do.
Also, I think LMT figured it all out on their AR10.
See video below, super smooth, controllable and very nice cyclic rate on their full auto AR10.
The bottom link should jump to time index 1:10 to see their full auto AR10 in action.

No idea what you are talking about.

I gotta go shape the trigger on my belt fed project since I'm making a new FCG out of D2. Cheers!

You said that the soviet LMG that feeds from a pan mag(DP-28) are only available as parts kits. That’s not true. There are running transferable guns.

Must have been a typo. I've been part of postie builds for DPs.

Easiest is parts kit unless you have an SOT or a deep wallet.

Unless I'm missing something, OP made a kinda odd post - it's in the MG forum yet he references wanting to put a binary trigger in it. Is OP wanting to buy a FA MG or a semi-auto?

I didn't know there was a mag-fed option for the M-60.  OP did say that he wanted magazine fed and not belt-fed.

Still a tad confused on whether he's after a FA MG or a semi-auto.  But let me bridge the gap...  get an M249.  You get mag fed option as well as belt fed.  If you're after NFA, they exist...  if you're after semi auto, they exist as well.
