I miss my issued MOLLE II assault pack. Besides being ACU, I loved that pack. I had mine for two deployments. I beat the shit out of that bag and kept it loaded as a bug out bag when I was a gunner. I used it all the time while stateside, too. Anyways, I've been looking at ordering one in OCP (multicam). I'm trying to aim for $100 or less. Is there anything else I should consider in that price range or should I go for the USGI pack?

I use the LAPolicegear 3 day bag. I have two. One black and one in multicam. They hold up very well.

I didn't even know they offered one. Thanks for the heads up.

AWS recon pack, ATS Raid II (maybe a little out of your price range). I still have my DCU molle pack that I carried to war 14 years ago. I don't use them for work anymore because I don't like the way the shoulder straps sit over armor, and the pack seems to not sit up high enough when it's loaded with any kind of weight.  I am currently using a PIG 40 hour

Love this pack. A little smaller than the Molle pack, but great pack. I put a BAE admin/utility pouch on it. It’s perfect

I’ve got an LBT 3 day that I like pretty well.

It’s sturdy but simple with just enough organization capacity.

Used ATS RAID/RAID II, probably the best patrol/3 day pack ever devised by mankind.

Yup just wait for them to go on sale, which is usually once a month.

it sounds like you're more interested in the nostalgia of what you had

whatever comes after won't live up to those expectations

just get a good backpack and move on with your life

Too late. I found one new for $80 made by BAE systems. I'm happy.

The LBT 3-day pack looks nice. If I'm ever in the market for another pack, I'll consider it.

@PA-Minuteman

Give me a few minutes and I’ll get some pictures up.

Anything in particular you want to see?

Just some general pics of the bag, you know. Outside, inside, compartments.

Just thinking about picking one up. I use a Camelbak Trizip as a 3 day pack right now but I love LBT

You can pick them up for about $200 used on Ebay, but check out the TAD Gear "Fast Pack", or the smaller version "Fast Pack Lightspeed". They are outstanding, bomb proof packs.

I think the newer generations have padded straps, but any generation is good.

I have two gen.1 and gen.2 FAST packs, and a gen.2/3? FAST pack Lightspeed, all of them purchased used. I have used them daily for a traveling job, as well as hiking, camping, range bags, etc. I have yet to see any damage to them. They are truly a "buy once" kind of bag.
