I found a NIB KA-BAR USMC knife today ($30.00) and was wondering if the older "new" KA-BARs are worth anymore than the current production examples? I've not really kept-up with them since they were not a issue knife.

If the paperwork print dates are anything to go by it looks like this one is from the early 1990s.

The box is sort of moldy.

Worth more than $30 but not collectible at all.  I think they go for $60 now?

They came in that same box in 1984.  I think they cost more than that then if I recall correctly.

Old thread I know, but the OPs knife is exactly what I got with my Ka Bar when I bought it in early 1989. I know they aren’t worth anything but I regret throwing the box away along with all that other stuff with it.

Is the finish on the OP's knife powder coating or parkerizing?
