So, last year I sent two sets of Forms together in the same envelope.
One set from Florida to Ohio and one set from Florida to Kentucky. I got one set back right away (I don't remember which) and never got the other set back until I contacted Martinsburg and asked about them. So, this year I sent them in two separate envelopes two days apart. Snail mailed 5/7 and 5/9 respectively. So, both sets were "stamped as approved" (by two different examiners) on 5/18. So far so good. The set to KY are postmarked 5/23 (5 days from approval to return mailing), I received them last week. The set to OH are postmarked 5/30 (12 days from approval to return mailing), I received the second set today, 6/4. I find it strange that two sets of Forms approved on the same day were "mailed" back 7 days apart. Summary: two sets of Forms approved 5/18. One mailed 5 days after approval, the other mailed 12 days after approval. I leave on my trip 6/17. I allowed about 6 weeks and it took just under 30 days but I was starting to get nervous. So, the take away... in the future I will be sending forms 60 days in advance. |

approved: 3/27/20 postmarked: 5/4/20 WTF received: 5/12/20 (To be fair it might have actually arrived a few days earlier, I only check once per week.) "Luckily" the training class I needed it for was cancelled/postponed due to the 'rona, but more than a month to mail the damn form back If anyone cares, the originating address is not the same as my form 4 was filed under. I moved a couple miles away and never told them about the change of address (honestly never occurred to me for an in-state move until I needed to send this in). |

I the class hadn’t been postponed, and it was me...I would’ve called to check status, and if I was told they were approved, I’d have gone without hesitation and without paper copies. Sometimes they’ll email you a copy of the approved form if you ask. |

I submitted four in mid-April via email. Nothing yet.
BigWaylon, does the BATFE tell you if your 5320.20 is approved or not? How do you call and check - the same way as you would for your Form 4 status? |

View Quote Same number. Remember when you call now it says something like press 1 for a Form 1 or 4? Now you have to listen to the rest of the recording. I think they’ll even tell you it’s Pending, which confirms they received it and just haven’t gotten to it, yet. Pretty sure I was told that once. |

I finally called on a form I submitted on April 18th. All of my forms were approved on the 9th of May but I guess they are caught up in the super efficient NFA branch mail process.
