I just bought one online and was wondering if anyone had any experiences with them. It’s a .50. I can’t wait to get it because it seems pretty neat. Thanks!

I had one about a decade ago.  It was a well made rifle, but I could not make it into a reliable hunting rifle (too many misfires).

I sold it and purchased a TC Blackdiamond. I converted the Blackdiamond to accept 209 primers.  It has never once misfired on me.

Aside from reliability issues, I loved the white mountain carbine.  It was a gorgeous rifle.

I got to play with one of these once. The owner couldn't make it shoot. Turns out, neither could I, at least not well enough to like the rifle. The two best loads for it were 45 gr of Pyrodex P and a patched .490 ball, and 80 gr of Pyrodex RS pushing a Maxi-Hunter. I didn't try it with sabots. There were no ignition issues.

I've got one. Never had any issues with it but I haven't shot it in ages.  I need to get it back into action.

They are sweet-handling muzzleloaders.  T/C no longer supports them, but the literature is still readily found online.

Now, if only I could find .45 maxi-hunter moulds...
