I just bit the bullet and bought a shit ton of stuff from Dillon last Friday. I bought the XL750 9MM/5.56 kit, .308 and .300BO dies, and 2x quick change and caliber conversion kits. After reading their backorder notice, I was prepared to wait until Christmas or so to get the stuff.

Well, as of today basically everything except the dies has shipped and I'll have it by Saturday. Has anyone had dies ship sooner than the 28 week estimate here lately or is that the bottle neck? I'm happy the rest of my stuff is on the way, but without dies I might as well leave it in the box. I can at least start cleaning up 10 years of accumulated brass I suppose.

It's never too early to start cleaning brass!

Oh yeah. Dillon groups on FB have lots of stories of dies being delayed the longs and most frequently. Other things, not so much.

If you can find another brand of dies you want, snap them up.

I have purchased a few times in the last month. Only thing that’s was delayed was my 223 conv kit. It was shipped within 3-4 weeks. Everything else has come in a week or so.

Will any brand of dies work fine? I need 6.5CM as well and if I stumble across some in a brick and mortar i could grab them.

Yes, the 750/550/650 use standard 7/8-14 threaded dies.

The square deal uses custom dies.

These guys have been shipping fast.  Placed a few orders in the last couple months & it's all shipped inside a week, usually just a couple days.  They don't have much for rifle seating dies yet, supposedly that's in the works.

I have a 750 but have a few other sets of dies from single stage.
My Hornady dies seem just a tad longer than RCBS.
You can get away with adding the lock ring to the bottom of the tool head if you don’t plan on moving things around much and have them down a ways. (Sizing die)

You know you can get dies from any company and they'll fit. I bought RCBS 30 Krag dies from a member of CMP forums  and some 30-06 dies from eBay in the last month.

I've been waiting since January for .380 Square  D dies. I've heard 8 to 12 month wait for dies, ymmv.

I ordered a few things last Friday, most of it showed up yesterday.

Still waiting on a quick change kit.

I expected at least a month before any of it showed up.

I ordered a 223 trim die around Christmas and have not received it.

Based on this I would get started with a different brand of dies if I were you. Maybe keep yours on backorder.  I use Lee dies in all of my Dillons. They are inexpensive and I have no complaints.

I got tired of trying to deal with online/phone ordering.

My mom lives near Dillon HQ, she was kind enough to go in and buy everything I needed to get this 1050 up and running. It's in the mail.

Not to hijack but does Dillon still send the Blue Press flyer?  Just realized I haven't gotten one in awhile but haven't ordered from them in a bit either.

I think, from past experiences they stop sending you them ~ 1 year from your last order.

Dillon does not make their own dies, they contract them out. I heard some place Redding made them for Dillion.
