So, I have a 1919 in .30-06 but discovered the loader I have is set-up for .308. I can’t find a replacement .30-06 length “pusher” anywhere.

Is there any somewhat straightforward way to hand load the belts? Maybe a modern hand tool. I don’t mind slow but something somewhat efficient would be nice.

Thanks for any advice or suggestions.

Heck, at this point I’m in the market for a proper .30-06 belt crank loader if I could find one.

This is what I made to load my cloth belts.  Works pretty good for next to no money.

Just put a trunion protector in it and shoot links

I have a loader in 30-06 and shoot my gun in 308 and I would offer to trade you but as soon as I do then 30-06 will become cheaper than 308 and I’ll be screwed.

That’s how things go for me

Also - I’ve loaded cloth belts wearing leather glove and hand strength.

Not fun but it works. One piece of advice from the 1919a4 l.com site from 15 or 20 years ago was to soak the belt in ATF. Supposed to loosen the fibers and lube the belt. I never tried it as k went 100% links.

Also, those white belts that a lot of people are selling right now are not for .308 or 30.06.  They will work but the first two or three times loading them is an ordeal.

Plate linker (like in post #2) and links. Or learn to love/hate the Browning Model 1918 Belt Filling Machine.
