Be very careful with those smoke. Even shot at high angle they will hit the grass burning and start a 3 alarm field fire. Or so I've heard...

I was in high school at the time. It was when these first started getting imported and were dort cheap. Think inlaid 25 or 30 bucks for a polish pistol launcher and got boxes of flares and smokes. Flares worked great but the smokes would land and still burn for a while. Ended up starting a brush fire that is not too common up here. Luckily no property damage occurred.
I learned my lesson after that incident and another where I tried to smoke a squirrel out of a hole in a tree with a small smoke ball firework. Whole tree burnt down |

If you shoot them straight up the will burn out mostly before they hit the ground. If you shoot them so they are a ground marker, you have a real fire risk in dry grass or brush. They are fun, but make sure it is wet outside. |
