I have had this gun for close to 20 years now. About 2 years ago my brother begged me for it and I gave in. He shot it one time in the past two years so I asked if he would like to give it back. Well, she came home, got a good cleaning to remove some surface rust on the barrel and off to the range today.

I loaded some 75gr Hornady Match and 69gr SMK with 24gr Shooters World Precision powder and Federal match primers. I still have to work on the 75gr but the 69gr SMK shot outstanding. All groups were 5 shots at 100 yds. I think this Savage outshot my RPR in 223 .

When she came to me all those years ago, she was wearing the old Choate stock. I purchased a Bell & Carson Duramax stock for $98 and it has been there for all those years. The stock is now $340. Not a bad investment .

I have a .223, .243 and .308 in Model 12 (same thing I believe).  All great shooters.

I have been very happy with my Model 12 in 308 along with my MkII rifles in 17m2 and 22lr. All three have the heavier varmint barrels.

One of the first bolt action rifles I bought and one of the few that I haven't changed much once I had it set up how I wanted it. I had the barrel cut to 18" and threaded so I could run it with my M4-2000, glass bedded it into a McMillan A5 and topped it with one of my Leupold Mk4 3-9x36 MRT's.

I have an older 110 Tactical in .223, got it in the early-mid 90's. Shoots extremely well. Got it at Wal-Mart in Morristown, TN for under $400.

I've even whacked a few hogs with it...

Is this a long action 110 in .223? If so I have one also that is very accurate.

Yes Sir.

When Savage first came out with the "Tactical" series back in the early-mid 90's, all were built on the 110 long action regardless of chambering. If remember correctly, they were offered in .223, .308, .25-06, .30-06, and maybe other chamberings.

Unfortunately there is verry little to nothing in the way of aftermarket stocks for these older rifles.

I have one in 30-06. Swapped in a Boyd's stock, put in a better trigger, bedded the receiver, floated the barrel.

Shoots like a dream.

Should have just bought a quality rifle in the first place. The stock Savage is a real POS.

I have a model 10 predator. The original before they threaded the barrel. It's a laser.
Its heavy but crazy accurate.

I used to have a Savage 10 PC in .223 and it's easily up there on guns I regret selling.  For some crazy reason with a 1:9 barrel, it would consistently put Hornady 75gr Match through stacked holes.  I'm hoping to get a 110 Hog Hunter 223 in the next year or two, but I doubt it'll shoot the same despite being an extremely similar model.

I had a 243.

Thing was a lightweight laser blaster.
Everyone loved shooting it.

Just a great shooter and so cheap.

I'm barreling my model 10 heavy barrel in 223 with a 300 blackout barrel.............16 inch stainless barrel with threaded muzzle

I put over 8000 rounds through mine.  69gr SMK over 26.0 of Varget.   Very accurate.  Accuracy started falling off and I put a Shillen 260 Remington barrel on it.  Somewhere along the way it got a SSS trigger and a different stock.

Savage rifles tend to shoot well.

Bolt guns in 223 tend to be outstanding.

I'm a huge Savage 10/110 fan. Really of all their numbered series rifles. I have a few of them. My favorite being a 243. They just shoot amazingly well. It's my primary hunting rifle. I've tried several others, most significantly more expensive, but I always end up back at that one?

Just got one from a surplus auction for $340 (+ another C-note for buyers fee, firearm fee and tax). No marks on the bolt face so I'm guessing it was rarely if ever fired. Synthetic stock is slightly marred up from moving around a safe. Soft foam buttpad has a small piece ripped out. No idea what version of a Model 10. synthetic stock, blind mag, 20" sportster barrel.

Serial number starts with G so from what I found, it was made between 2001 and 2009. And has an accutrigger.

I have a Model 10 PC in 30 I’ve killed about 20 deer with. I hated the accutrigger it came with and swapped it for a Timney. It’s great, but the Savage stocks are pure garbage.

Most oem synthetic stocks are all the same. Fine until you crank down on a sling or load a bipod.

The accustock works much better. I put my .308 hoghunter in one. Although I just ordered a wood stock for it so I can make an m40ish savage.
